Opening reception Saturday, May 2 | 6 - 8 pm
Topsoil showcases ambitious final artworks and research from Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Intercollege Degree (BXA) students at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Art, marking the capstone of their undergraduate journeys. Now in its second year at the Tomayko Foundation, the exhibition also continues a growing partnership between CMU and one of Pittsburgh’s leading institutions dedicated to the intersection of education and the arts.
The Carnegie Mellon School of Art is the premier location for the interface between art, technology, and interdisciplinary art practice. Combining the advantages of a renowned studio program with the resources of a top-tier research university, the School offers two fine arts degrees, the Bechelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts, and supports three interdisciplinary degrees known collectively as the BXA Intercollege Degree Programs.
